About the Event

2025 marks the inaugural year of the Golden Putter tournament for Women in
Sport. This event is in support of adult organized female sports in Southern
Alberta.

Individually, the average team receiving support from the event receives less
than $5,000 in combined sponsorship and grant funding and has an annual
budget in excess of $20,000 for a season.
Players, coaches and their families are required to pay the difference in player
fees, creating a significant barrier to women continuing to be involved in team
sports once they leave the youth leagues. Many women drive themselves to
games or carpool, even when playing out of province, and are responsible for
their travel costs. Compared to similar men’s leagues, women’s teams receive
less than 10 cents in support for every dollar spent on men’s teams.

Your attendance has the ability to support this event and radically change the
affordability of organized women’s sport in Lethbridge.

Registration Fee: $90 per golfer
Venue: Suites at Evergreen Golf Centre, Lethbridge, Alberta

The event will feature 18 3-person teams competing in a virtual best ball
competition. Based in the comfortable, climate-controlled suites of Evergreen
Golf Club’s new Trackman range, golfers will have the chance to sit in heated
comfort when not golfing, and network with other supports of women’s sport in
Lethbridge while sipping on their favorite beverages with suite side service.

The winning team will hoist the first ever Golden Putter award, a putter with a
hockey stick blade engraved with the tournament name and sponsors.
Representatives from several Lethbridge teams will be on hand to answer any
questions and speak about their experiences with sports in Lethbridge and how
the donations raised will help their clubs. And all attendees will receive individual
and team photos provided by Lethbridge Sports.
