Level 2 - Yellow Belt
Our Yellow Belt program for growing technique in boys and girls who have completed Level 1.
It is highly recommended, but not mandatory that a child has done the Level 1 White Belt program prior to taking the Level 2 Yellow Belt program.
This program :
- is 4/60 minute sessions over 4 weeks.
- is a great place to start your child if they have minor previous experience and are 8-10 years old or for a 6-7 year old who is showing promising skills.
- grows technique through more advanced drills and games allowing for further skill acquisition in the golf swing.
- incorporates basic rules and etiquette.
CHECKPOINTS TO PASS LEVEL 2 INCLUDE :
- Remains focused during the lessons
- Respects the instructor and their fellow students
- Can 3 putt from 30 feet once in 6 attempts (will get 2 chances during the program)
- Can chip a ball onto the green from 10 yards off the green once in 4 attempts (will get 2 chances during the program)
- Keeps their hands close together and covers their top thumb during full swings
- Makes airborne contact with the ball 50% of their full swings
- Can name 5 key parts of a golf club. Grip, shaft, club head, club face, and the grooves (this will be tested by the student touching those 5 parts of the club and naming them to the instructor on the final day of class)
TESTING IS DONE DURING THE LESSONS AND 6 of 7 CHECKPOINTS MUST BE PASSED TO MOVE ONTO LEVEL 3 GREEN BELT
